YEPP IRC

YEPP IRC

Based on the 10 years of successful development and implementation of the “YEPP” approach and methodology and the achievements and lessons learned from the Youth Empowerment Partnership Programme, that came to an end in 2011, the YEPP International Resource Centre (YEPP IRC) was established on 1 January 2012 within the Institute for Community Education (ICE) of the International Academy for Innovative Pedagogy, Psychology and Economics (INA) gGmbH) at the Free University of Berlin.

The YEPP IRC is the result of a consultation process that took place within the YEPP Community between 2009 and 2011.

The conclusion of the consultation was that an International Resource Centre would be the best structure for providing the necessary resources and support in the areas of youth and community empowerment, partnership, advocacy and learning at a local, regional, national and transnational level.

The International Academy (INA gGmbH) provides the legal framework, employs the staff members and hosts the YEPP IRC at its premises at the Free University of Berlin. Within INA, the YEPP IRC is located in the Institute for Community Education (Director: Angelika Krüger) which provides professional support.

Guidance on the YEPP IRC’s strategy is provided by an established Steering Committee that reflects the diversity of the YEPP Post 2011 Working Group, with representatives from the YEPP Community including foundations, local coordinators, evaluation facilitators, young people, EMN Coordination and INA.
