Andrea Serafini from Torino, Italy studied cinematography, TV fiction and film production in Milan, London, Leeds and Rome. From 1999 to 2004 he worked as a director of documentaries and sitcoms for the public network RAI and independent network Mediaset. He is member of the Italian Film Academy since 1999.  In 2004, he was a founder member of the community television association Videocommunity, based in Torino, he has been actively involved in the educational and community activities of the association ever since.   In 2004 he started collaborating as a consultant with the Youth Empowerment Partnership Programme (YEPP),  initiated by a group of foundations to establish an innovative European and trans-Atlantic partnership of the independent, public and private sectors targeting disadvantaged children and youth and the communities they live in. Within YEPP, he contributed to implementing - and is currently Coordinator - of the EmpowerMediaNetwork.
